In order to stimulate students' interest in writing and improve their writing level, on the afternoon of 31st October, during the extracurricular class, teacher Li Quanmin gave a calligraphy lecture entitled ‘Writing Good Standard Characters’ to the eighth grade literature club members. To be concrete, Li Quanmin made a wonderful presentation to the students in terms of the definition of standard characters, the meaning and purpose of standard character writing and the knowledge of standard character writing. Also, Li Quanmin conducted detailed explanation to the students by means of his humorous language and profound knowledge.
Overall, teacher Li Quanmin’s lecture benefited the teachers and students present in that the students felt the wisdom and endless mystery of Chinese square characters. Furthermore, each Chinese character carries a specific cultural connotation. Therefore, we should develop good writing habits and improve the correctness, standardization and beauty of writing.
